Why we built it
Every site office has the same spreadsheets passed from engineer to engineer, with formulas nobody remembers checking. EngCalcu puts those everyday calculations in one place, on any phone, with the working shown under every result so you can check it before it goes into a pour request, a tender or a programme.
EngCalcu is built in the UAE by people who work on construction projects. The tools are tuned for the region, with the UAE weekend and public holiday calendar, metric units and AED pricing, and they work anywhere metric units are used.
How the calculators work
- Formulas follow standard industry practice, such as the 1.54 dry volume factor for concrete and D²/162 for reinforcement weight.
- Every result shows its formula and steps, so it can be checked by hand.
- Calculations run in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server.
- Holiday data and rates are reviewed and updated when official announcements are made.

Alongside the tools, our Engineering Stories retell famous collapses, accidents and inventions, with the practical lesson each one still teaches.
